My due date is was officially three months from Monday. I’ll never understand why doctors, books, and others always say that pregnancy lasts nine months. People, it’s ten. A normal pregnancy lasts 40 weeks and last time I checked, 40 weeks was ten months. So whenever I hear someone say nine months, I always correct them. Why have false senses of hope?
It was pretty hot and humid here all weekend. Our air-conditioning is still on. As far as I’m concerned, this year it can stay on all summer. Usually we only turn it on when it’s really hot and/or humid, but this year there is an exception.
We had a pretty busy weekend. It started Thursday evening with the big dress rehearsal. LC was great. I have to admit I was a little nervous for her, especially since it was her first time on a stage. But, she did great. Yesterday was the first night of the recital (it’s a two night deal). She was the second act to go on (after a long and agonizing tribute to Michael Jackson). We were told that the kids couldn’t leave until the recital was over and I think I was more stressed out over that fact than anything else. Some of the mom’s volunteered to be backstage helpers (God help them) to keep the girls entertained. The recital ended up being three hours long…yes three hours long (and not a three hour tour)! There was an intermission halfway through and Mr. Jeep and I noticed that parents were signing out their kids. We kept going back and forth as to whether or not we wanted to leave. In the end we decided to stay. At the very end all of the dancers come onto the stage for a final bow. LC was great! She loves the stage. When I went backstage to get her she was lying on the floor watching a movie that one of the mom’s had brought. She said her favorite thing was dancing…of course!
We had to do it all over again on Monday night. We didn’t get out of there until almost 10:00 p.m. That is late night for me, let alone LC! All of the girls did really well again and it was very entertaining. Now we have the summer off from dance class. We’ll see if LC wants to do it all over again come September.

I have a friend who just had a baby, it's so funny reading your post because you remind me so much of her. She was seriously READY. I think she was even a few days overdue. Anyway, like your blog, I have one too that I just started working on. It's short stories. http://www.mypinkyarns.com
